World Premiere of ‘Mickey 17’ Leaves London Starstruck with Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, and Bong Joon-ho attending

The world premiere of Mickey 17 in London had stars like Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Mark Ruffalo, and Toni Collette walking the red carpet. Directed by Bong Joon-ho, Mickey 17 is his first feature since the Oscar-winning Parasite.

Robert Pattinson shared how he always wanted to work with Director Bong and found the script of Mickey 17 to be bizarre yet incredibly inspiring. The film also stars Naomi Ackie as Mickey’s love interest Nasha, with whom Pattinson shared a great on-screen chemistry.

Mickey 17 is set in a futuristic world where space colonists called Expendables do dangerous jobs and are brought back to life through human printing technology. The movie is based on the novel Mickey 7 by Edward Ashton but with an increased death count for the protagonist Mickey Barnes.

Director Bong Joon-ho was captivated by the human drama in the story and wanted to explore themes of hope and optimism through Mickey’s journey. The film also delves into the ethical complications of advanced technology like human printing, drawing parallels to the current debate about AI in society.

Steven Yeun, who previously worked with Bong on Okja, praised the director’s dedication and creativity, emphasizing the collaborative and artistic atmosphere on set. Producers Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Dooho Choi also attended the premiere in London before Mickey 17 heads to the Berlin Film Festival.
