Anthony Mackie is taking the screen by storm this weekend with his role in “Captain America: Brave New World,” but he is also part of the “Twisted Metal” franchise on Peacock. “Twisted Metal” is a post-apocalyptic action-comedy television series developed by the writers of “Deadpool,” Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick, along with Michael Jonathan Smith.
The show follows a motor-mouthed outsider who is given the chance for a better life if he can safely deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Starring Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, and Joe Seanoa, with Will Arnett and Anthony Carrigan, the show also features recurring guest stars such as Saylor Bell Curda, Lisa Gilroy, Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, Tiana Okoye, and Michael James Shaw.
In season two of “Twisted Metal,” John and Quiet find themselves in the dangerous TWISTED METAL tournament hosted by Calypso. As they navigate through new foes and old enemies, including Sweet Tooth, complications arise when John reunites with his sister, Dollface.
Showrunner, writer, and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith describes season two as a high-stakes demolition derby tournament where the winner gets a wish granted. Starring a stellar cast led by Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz, the season promises to be fast-paced, hysterical, and thrilling.
Directed by Phil Sgriccia, Bill Benz, Iain MacDonald, and Bertie Ellwood, season two of “Twisted Metal” is set to return to Peacock in the summer of this year, although a premiere date has not yet been announced.
