Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman got the Stan Lee cameo treatment in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. His cameo was confirmed by director Jeff Rowe during an interview with /Film.
I’ve seen the movie twice already, but I didn’t catch the cameo until it was pointed out. During an interview, Rowe was asked where Eastman appears given that his name features in the movie’s credits. He revealed the cameo and explains that Eastman wanted it to be meaningful:
“He’s the human who helps Splinter up at the end. He helps him out. And we wanted that to be someone meaningful to the franchise, and we were so happy Kevin was willing to do that. I’m appreciative of the Stan Lee cameos in Marvel films, and it felt like a great way to honor him and the beautiful gift he has given the world.”
Heck yeah! It’s awesome that Eastman got a cameo in the film! He and Peter Laird are the guys that brought these awesome Heroes in a Half-Shell into the world and our lives are better because of it. It’s hard to imagine a world without Ninja Turtles! It’s great that they were able to pay tribute to that in Mutant Mayhem.
The question is, will Eastman start mopping up in all future Ninja Turtles projects!?
