‘Sister Wives’ Polygamists Kody Brown Talks Marrying Again After THREE Divorces
Kody Brown opens up about the possibility of marrying again and how his past experiences have shaped his views on love and commitment in a new interview. Also, Christine Brown says she has no regrets about the life she built with Kody, nearly two years after leaving her plural marriage.
“Just because I left, it doesn’t mean we failed,” Christine told People ahead of the Season 18 premiere. “It [only] means there’s change.”
The Sister Wives star added — “Our goal was to raise incredible children, and we did. It was a success for us.”
Kody Brown and Christine spiritually wed in 1994 and went on to have six children together, Aspyn, Paedon, Mykelti, Gwendlyn, Ysabel and Truely. Christine announced that she was leaving Kody in November 2021.
“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” she wrote, via Instagram. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”
Christine, who relocated to Utah, found love again fifteen months later.
“I finally found the love of my life, David,” she wrote alongside a series of pics snapped alongside her new beau, David Woolley. “The first time he held me close, it felt like my soul took it’s first breath.”
The TLC star added — “He’s wonderful and kind, incredible with my children and an adorable grandpa. I never dreamed I could find a love like this.”
The lovebirds announced their engagement two months later.
“David treats me like a queen and tells me I’m beautiful every day,” Christine said, at the time. “I’ve never been in love like this before, and the world seems like a brighter place with him in it.”
She gushed — “I’m so excited for the wonderful adventure we are going to embark on for the rest of our lives.”
Meanwhile, Kody Brown, 54, who was left reeling in the wake of Christine’s exit, has since admitted that his polygamous vision had changed. Kody’s fourth and only legal wife, Robyn, is the only partner standing after Kody’s first and second wives, Meri and Janelle, followed in Christine’s footsteps.
“The idea of ever marrying again after the experience I’ve had, there’s no reason for me to do that,” Kody explained in the latest issue of People. “I feel like I’ve hit the bottom of a deep swimming pool, but I’ve pushed off and am headed to the surface.”
Fans of the TLC show know that Kody and his four wives faced constant conflict as they tried to live as a harmonious plural family.
“I went in with these ideas about how idyllic plural marriage was going to be — but it was really hard,” Janelle, 54, said. “Meri and I clashed on everything. Kody and I were amazing when it was just us, but the family dynamic was really tough.”
Meri, 52, told the outlet that her future plans involve “keeping the doors open and saying yes.” Janelle, 54, noted that she didn’t “have any regrets,” adding that the “experience is what gave us the life that we have now.”
She added — “I would do it all again.”
Sister Wives Season 18 premieres on August 20, at 10 pm ET, on TLC.
