A recent Jeopardy! answer has left viewers in complete stitches. More so, they are questioning how this particular contestant even got on the popular game show. People have given interesting answers in the past but this time, something just tickled viewers’ funny bones. So, what was it? Read on for more details.
Jeopardy! Answer Leaves Viewers In Stitches
There are times when Jeopardy! contestants give the wrong answers and it is fine. Then, there are instances where the answer is so far-fetched that it becomes comical. Such is the situation on a recent episode of the hit game show when a player was answering a question. However, it was the way that they responded that had viewers wondering how this person even made it as far as they did, and with good reason. According to The Sun, a contestant named Jack was competing and he decided he was going to give it his best shot.
The category was: “Plurals that don’t end in S.” That led to the question of what the plural of moose was. Jack decided to reply with this: “What are meese?” Host Ken Jennings could not hold back his emotions as he started laughing, now having to let Jack know this was not the correct answer at all. Alicia, another contestant went to respond but Ken had to stop and say: “No, Jack, no.” When Alicia answered, she almost had it but she did not have it phrased right. She said, “what is moose?” when it was, “what are moose?”
Of course, Jeopardy! fans could not contain themselves and took to the Instagram page to share their thoughts. “If he said it comedically then it would be great. Instead we’re all sitting here wondering how the heck this guy got on Jeopardy,” one person wrote. Another added: “He clearly grew up with Mary Kate and Ashley videos.” Someone noted that this will haunt Jack for the rest of his life He probably will be fine as he made it to the show and ultimately, ended up winning it all.
The Show Will Go On
Despite the writer strike and co-host Mayim Bialik exiting to support her people, Jeopardy! will be returning for Season 40. It is said to be coming back in September. Unfortunately, this could be delayed if the strikes continue. Along with the writer strike, there is also the SAG-AFTRA one, as well. This means that both hosts could be MIA and that could be a struggle. Only time will tell but fans just have to remain hopeful that the show will be back as expected.
