In case you hadn’t heard, we learned earlier Monday that Angus Cloud had passed away at the unimaginably young age of 25. The Euphoria star’s family broke the news, saying in a statement that Angus had died at their home in Oakland, California.
They also mentioned he had “intensely struggled” with the loss of his father. TMZ has since learned that after returning home from Ireland, where his dad was laid to rest, the actor was staying with his family to help deal with his grief. The statement didn’t say how Angus died, but a source close to the family told the outlet he was battling suicidal thoughts ever since the funeral.
In the latest update, it seems the Oakland Police and Fire Departments responded to a 911 call from the actor’s mother at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. According to TMZ‘s law enforcement sources, she told the operator her son didn’t have a pulse. She also said she was calling about a “possible overdose.” It’s unclear why she would assume that — if there were drugs on the scene, for instance. In any case, it was all too late. Angus was pronounced dead at the scene.

Euphoria fans will know Angus played a drug dealer on the show. But he was adamant the HBO hit did not glorify drug use, telling TMZ:
“Drugs ain’t nothin’ to play around with. It’s not fun and games, it’s serious business.”
Whether Angus died by suicide, accidental overdose, or something else is unknown. What we do know is that we lost a distinct young voice in Hollywood — and that his heart was broken just beforehand.
