“No Other Land” from the Palestinian/Israeli collective, which includes directors and activists like Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor, and Basel Adra, continues its successful awards season run with a trio of awards at this year’s Cinema Eye Honors. The Outstanding Nonfiction Filmmaking award was among the three honors the documentary received at the 18th annual Cinema Eye Honors, held on January 9 at the New York Academy of Medicine in East Harlem.
This year’s Cinema Eye Honors saw a range of winners, with films like “Eno,” “Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat,” and “Union” taking home multiple awards. Notable mentions include Mati Diop for Outstanding Direction in “Dahomey,” Christopher LaMarca and Emily Kassie for Cinematography in “Sugarcane,” and Uno Helmersson for Original Score in “The Remarkable Life of Ibelin.”
In addition, HBO had a successful evening, winning four awards in the Broadcast Film and Series categories. The full list of winners includes a mix of documentaries, feature films, series, and short films, showcasing the diversity and talent in the non-fiction genre.
