B-Stock is so excited to welcome Dion Olumese to the Engineering team this summer! As a summer teammate, we know Dion will be an incredible asset to the company. Dion is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Houston. Learn a bit more about Dion and see his answers to some questions below.
Q: What are you most excited to learn at B-Stock?
I am mostly excited to learn how the engineers at B-Stock create efficient and maintainable code while maximizing revenue generation.
Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? (Or still want to be!)
When I was a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut because of a 3rd grade project where we made foam planet models. I guess you could say to date, I’m still following the technology/science career path so not much has changed.
Q: What is one piece of advice you’ve been given that has stuck?
You can be whatever you want to be as long as you work really hard.
Q: Where can people find you after work or school?
At home studying or at the gym.
Q: What is a hidden talent of yours?
I can dunk on a 10-foot rim!
Q: What plays in the background while you work (music genre, podcast, news)?
Probably some Afrobeats or the voice of my favorite steamers while I have their stream open in the background.
Q: Where would you go with unlimited PTO?
Ancient Greece, I would love to explore what pre-civilization looks like.
Q: What do you do when you’re stuck creatively? How do you get the creative juices flowing?
I normally just sleep. I noticed ideas come to me fresh out of bed rather than after a long day.
Q: What’s something you’ve accomplished that you’re proud of?
Reaching Challenger in League was a pretty revolutionary moment in my life.
Q: What is one thing you hope to contribute to B-Stock?
Not only do I want to learn a whole bunch, but I hope to bring a diverse set of skills that can offer a fresh perspective to the senior engineers at B-Stock.
