Paramore fans, get ready for a treat! Rusty Williams, the 78-year-old grandfather of Hayley Williams, is set to release his long-awaited debut album through Zac Farro’s Congrats Records. Rusty recorded his album, Grand Man, back in the 1970s, but it remained undiscovered until recently when his production partner stumbled upon it. You can watch the music video for the album’s lead single, “Knocking (At Your Door),” below.
According to a press release, Hayley Williams grew up hearing about her grandfather’s album, but she never knew it was real until now. Upon discovering its existence, Hayley and Farro encouraged Rusty Williams to share his music with the world.
While Rusty took his time bringing his music to fans, Hayley wasted no time in sharing her own. From Paramore’s debut in 2005 with All We Know Is Falling, to her solo debut in 2020 with Petals for Armor, Hayley has been making waves in the music industry. Interestingly, her solo album features a sample of Rusty Williams’ “Friends or Lovers” on the track “Crystal Clear.”
Don’t miss out on the diverse sounds of Grand Man, featuring tracks like “Can’t Stay Away From You, Girl” and “Every Time I’m High.” Embrace the musical journey of Rusty Williams and enjoy the timeless tunes he has to offer.
