Robin Williams‘ daughter, Zelda, took to X, previously Twitter, this weekend to debunk a viral picture of the late comic alleging he owned a pet monkey.
“Dad didn’t own a pet monkey,” Zelda wrote. “NO ONE should.”
The picture in query, posted from an account titled Time Capsule Tales, confirmed Robin Williams smiling with a monkey balanced on his shoulder. The caption claimed the image was taken a few days earlier than Williams died by suicide on Aug. 11, 2014, and that the animal was “his pet monkey.” By the point of this text’s publication, the put up had almost 9 million views.
