Yukimi, the vocalist and co-founder of the Swedish group Little Dragon, has just announced her debut solo album. The album titled “For You” will be released on March 28 through Ninja Tune. Yukimi has also released two new songs from the album, “Sad Makeup” and “Winter Is Not Dead.”
In a press release, Yukimi expressed her desire for her music to connect people and help them escape from the chaos of the world. She emphasized the purity of expression in this solo project and her excitement to start this journey.
Last year, Yukimi gave a sneak peek of “For You” with the single “Break Me Down,” a collaborative effort with Erik Bodin and Lianne La Havas. The album features guest appearances from Lianne La Havas on “Steam of Consciousness,” Posdnuos from De La Soul on “Jaxon,” and Yusuke Nagano on “Feels Good to Cry.” The album explores various genres including jazz, soul, psychedelia, electropop, and more.
Little Dragon, the band Yukimi is best known for, released their debut self-titled album in 2007. Their latest studio album, “Slugs of Love,” came out in July 2023.
