Winners of the Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards Showcased ‘The Brutalist’ and ‘Challengers’

The 2025 SCL Awards took place at the Skirball Cultural Center, where composers and lyricists gathered for a night of celebration. Hosted by Colin Hays, the evening featured a performance of “Lean on Me” to unite the community after recent wildfires in Los Angeles.

Although the event had a celebratory atmosphere, it also took moments to acknowledge the tragedy that struck the city. Composer Starr Parodi, who lost her home in the Palisades Fire, received a replacement plaque for her previously earned award onstage.

Some of the top awards of the night went to Daniel Blumberg for The Brutalist, Diane Warren for The Six Triple Eight, Kris Bowers for The Wild Robot, and Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Luca Guadagnino for Challengers.

Harry Gregson-Williams received the Spirit of Collaboration Award for his work with Ridley Scott, and Jeff Beal won the 2025 jury award.

Outstanding Original Song for a Comedy or Musical Visual Media Production:
– Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Clement Ducol, Camille, Lainey Wilson, Luke Dick, Shane McAnally, Robbie Williams, Freddy Wexler, Sacha Skarbek, and Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross & Luca Guadagnino.

Outstanding Original Title Sequence for a Television Production:
– Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, Nick Chuba, Blake Neely, Carlos Rafael Rivera, Danielle Ponder, Jeff Toyne, and Nami Melumad.

Outstanding Original Score for a Television Production:
