Cameron Diaz returns to acting after more than a decade with her latest film, “Back in Action.” Find out why she took a break and what made her come back.
In a 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Drew Barrymore, Diaz’s “Charlie’s Angels” co-star, mentioned that both actresses decided to take a break to focus on other aspects of their lives. Diaz wanted more control over her life and felt that being in the spotlight limited her ability to manage other areas of her life.
During her hiatus, Diaz focused on being a parent and running her wine brand. However, a call from Jamie Foxx, who co-stars and executive produces “Back in Action,” convinced her to return to acting. Diaz and Foxx had previously worked together in 2014 and she was excited to work with him again.
The storyline of “Back in Action” also appealed to Diaz, as it explores the idea of parents rediscovering their cool side in the eyes of their children. She hopes the film will resonate with families and spark conversations between parents and children.
“Back in Action” is now available for streaming on Netflix, offering a chance for audiences to see Diaz back on the big screen.
