Warner Bros. is making significant changes to its film release schedule, with five films seeing shifts on the 2025 and 2026 release schedule, including Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Bride!”.
“One Battle After Another,” a crime thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is moving its release date from August 8 to September 26. The film will still be released on Imax screens and will now also include a special release on VistaVision. Warner Bros. is taking the time to prepare VistaVision prints and projectors for this release, positioning the film for potential awards contention in the fall.
“The Bride!” starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale has been moved from September 26 to March 6, 2026. This reimagined classic horror film is set in 1930s Chicago and is expected to be a mainstream spring hit.
In addition, two other films, the animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat” and the sci-fi film “Flowervale Street” have also been rescheduled for 2026. Warner Bros. will be showcasing these films, along with others, at its CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas on April 1.
Overall, Warner Bros. is making strategic moves to optimize the release schedule for its upcoming films and capitalize on the potential success of these projects.
