Glen Powell, the breakout Hollywood actor of 2024, is continuing his success into the new year with a first-look film deal with Universal Pictures. Powell, along with his production company Barnstorm, signed the deal after the success of last year’s hit film Twisters.
The deal was finalized with the appointment of Dan Cohen, who will be running Barnstorm alongside Powell. Cohen, previously with Shawn Levy’s production company 21 Laps, brings a wealth of experience to the partnership.
Powell expressed his excitement about the deal, stating that Barnstorm is his dream company and aims to be a destination for top-quality entertainment. Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer praised Powell as a talented and committed artist who will continue to produce compelling stories for global audiences.
Cohen, who has worked on successful projects like Stranger Things and Arrival, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration with Powell and the vision of creating impactful stories that resonate with audiences worldwide.
Powell, currently filming The Running Man for Paramount Pictures, is set to release the sci-fi thriller on Nov. 7, 2025. With his recent success and upcoming projects, Powell’s career is on a promising trajectory.
