Timothée Chalamet hosted and performed as a musical guest on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. The talented actor, known for his role in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, showcased his musical abilities by performing three of Dylan’s songs: “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” a medley of “Outlaw Blues” and “Three Angels,” with keyboard accompaniment from James Blake. Chalamet also appeared in various sketches throughout the show, portraying characters such as a bungee-jumping instructor, new barista-in-training, and an AI-generated podcast host.
This marks Chalamet’s third time hosting SNL, with previous appearances in 2020 and 2023. His portrayal of Dylan has earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the upcoming 2025 Oscars, one of eight categories in which A Complete Unknown is eligible for recognition. Leading up to the film’s release, Chalamet even recreated the music video for Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues.”
The 50th season of Saturday Night Live, which began last September, has featured a diverse lineup of musical guests, including acts like Jelly Roll, Coldplay, Billie Eilish, and Hozier. The upcoming episode on February 15, just before the show’s 50th anniversary special, will feature a yet-to-be-announced host and musical guest.
