A woman plagued with strange visions of a dancing Troye Sivan gave host Timothée Chalamet a chance to show off his smooth moves and “tiny red undies.”
The skit opened with Bowen Yang trying to treat a distressed Sarah Sherman in a sleep study. Sherman talked about seeing “some sort of figure with me in the room,” which Yang describes as sleep paralysis. Yang then triggers a special computer that can induce her hallucinations while she’s awake.
That’s when Sherman sees a guy, “like a gay guy.” Chalamet appear as Troye Sivan and starts to dance and drop his PJ pants to show off his booty.
When Sherman asks if he’s a demon, Chalet responds, “I’m an Australian You Tube twink turned indie pop star, and model turned HBO actor Troye Sivan being played by an American actor who can’t do an Australian accent.”
(For those who don’t recognize him, the Australian singer/YouTube personality turned rising actor co-starred on HBO’s short-lived series The Idol).
Sherman realizes Sivan is kind of famous but Yang retorts, “he’s gay famous. It’s different.”
Before long, Chalamet’s Sivan starts to seduce Sherman by flashing his undies and talking about how he’s a “moisturized Machine Gun Kelly.” Yang tries to help get Sivan out of her head by prescribing Logan Paul’s Prime energy drink and a CD of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
But it’s too late.
“I can’t get rid of him,” Sherman says. “At first he scared me but now I think he’s the only thing that turns me on.”
Yang warns her that by inviting him in, Sivan will multiply. That’s when the three members of boygenius — the night’s musical guest — take the stage, looking like Sivan carbon copies.
