iRobot has recently unveiled new Roomba vacuums with innovative features. One of the standout models is the Roomba 205 DustCompactor Combo Robot, touted as the “industry’s first onboard mechanical debris-compacting system.” This unique system compresses dust and debris, allowing users to go up to eight weeks without needing to empty the vacuum, eliminating the need for a dedicated debris bin.
The Roomba 205 also functions as a hybrid vacuum and mop, equipped with a 4-stage vacuuming system and ClearView LiDAR for improved navigation. iRobot claims that this model offers “250 percent more power-lifting suction and improved cleaning performance” compared to previous Roomba 600 series robots.
Another notable model is the Roomba Plus 405 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock, which focuses on enhanced mopping capabilities. It features DualClean mop pads that spin at 200 RPM for more effective cleaning, along with an AutoWash dock that washes and dries the mop pads automatically.
Additionally, iRobot introduced the 505 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock, designed to clean edges more efficiently. Alongside these new products, the Roomba Home app is receiving upgrades to provide users with more intuitive control, the ability to create cleaning routines and schedules, real-time monitoring of their devices, and advanced customization options.
The Roomba 205 DustCompactor Combo Robot is priced at $469, the Roomba Plus 405 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock costs $800, and the 505 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock is priced at $1,000. Preorders are set to begin on March 18 through iRobot and select retailers. iRobot also unveiled a new entry-level vacuum, the Roomba 105, priced at $319.
