Renowned television writer and producer Mike Milligan passed away on December 20 at the age of 77. Milligan, known for his work on hit shows such as All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Maude, and Dear John, had a successful career in the entertainment industry.
Born Bernard Michael Milligan on January 28, 1947, in Los Angeles, he graduated from Loyola Marymount University before serving in the Air Force. Milligan discovered his passion for writing and producing, which led to a successful partnership with Jay Moriarty. Together, they created award-winning TV shows, including 49 episodes of The Jeffersons.
As a member of the Writers Guild of America for over 50 years, Milligan also contributed to popular shows like Good Times, Maude, and Dear John. Additionally, he collaborated on the Telemundo series Los Beltran, which received multiple awards.
In addition to his TV work, Milligan was involved in workshops on Trauma Informed Care for the homeless. He is survived by his wife, son, sister, and stepdaughters. A memorial service will be held later this year to honor his legacy.
