Tesla Issues Recall for Nearly 700,000 Vehicles Due to Tire Pressure Monitoring System Warning Light Issue
In recent news, Tesla has announced a recall affecting almost 700,000 vehicles, including the 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has warned owners about a problem with the tire pressure monitoring system warning light not staying illuminated between drives, as reported by the Associated Press.
Tesla has stated that it will be sending out an over-the-road (OTR) update to address the warning light issue in the affected vehicles. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed on Feb. 15, 2025.
This recall adds to the list of several others that Tesla has issued in the past year. The NHTSA has recorded seven recalls for the Cybertruck, addressing issues such as the rear-view camera, faulty windshield wipers, and loose trunk beds. Additionally, in June, Tesla issued an over-the-air update for 1.8 million vehicles, including select 2021-2024 Model 3, S, and X vehicles, and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles to rectify hoods that could become loose if improperly closed during drives.
