National security leaders unintentionally leaked Yemen attack plans once again, this time to teen girls on Saturday Night Live. The NBC sketch comedy show spoofed the recent scandal involving the Trump administration, where top national security officials included the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic in a group text chain discussing plans for an airstrike in Yemen. President Donald Trump denied that the information shared in the texts was classified. Following the leak, The Atlantic released the text messages containing the attack plans.
In the latest SNL episode, three high school girls were texting about boy drama when they were unexpectedly added to a group text with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, portrayed by Andrew Dismukes. Hegseth’s character writes, “FYI green light on Yemen race. Who’s ready to glass some Houthi rebels. Flag emoji, flag emoji, flag emoji, fire emoji, eggplant.”
The episode also featured Anora star and Oscar winner Mikey Madison making her hosting debut, with musical guest Morgan Wallen. Stay tuned for more updates.
