The Super Bowl LIX drew a record number of viewers despite a blowout on the field, with an average of 126 million viewers across all platforms, according to early figures from Nielsen and internal Fox data. This marks the second straight year of setting an all-time viewing record in the United States, with a 2 percent increase from last year’s record-setting viewership on CBS.
Fox also reported a Super Bowl streaming record with 13.6 million viewers on Tubi and 14.5 million including NFL digital platforms, surpassing the previous streaming high from 2022. While the primary broadcast on Fox may see a slight decline year-over-year, the increase in streaming viewership more than makes up for it.
The lopsided game, where the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, did not impact the TV audience as viewing peaked at 135.7 million during the second quarter. Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show was a highlight, with viewers sticking around for his performance of “Not Like Us.”
In addition to Fox’s broadcast and Tubi’s live stream, Telemundo also carried the Spanish-language telecast of the game. Detailed audience breakdowns for each outlet will be available on Tuesday.
