Erin Brown Thomas is set to showcase her latest work, “Chasers,” at the Sundance 2025 Episodic Pilot competition in Park City, Utah. Co-written by director and lead actress Ciarra Krohne, this 31-minute one-shot follows the journey of a girl named Sophia at a Los Angeles house party. Drawing comparisons to a more satirical version of “Euphoria,” this series evolved from a short film as the creators fell in love with the characters’ depth and emotion.
The pilot will also be screened at Slamdance 2025 in February, marking a rarity in the festival circuit. Through “Chasers,” Brown Thomas aims to explore the concept of hope and exploitation within the entertainment industry, drawing from her own experiences in Los Angeles’s hustle culture. With themes of manipulation, dark humor, and the cost of success, the series delves into uncomfortable parallels between trauma and career-driven expectations.
Featuring a talented cast and a captivating soundtrack by Dan Rufolo and Adam Kromelow, “Chasers” was entirely shot at the lead performer’s house. The film stars actors like Keana Marie, Brooke Maroon, and Daniel Rashid, among others. With trailer editing by Joe Siebert and photography by Leo Evidente III, “Chasers” promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of the darker aspects of the entertainment industry.
Don’t miss the premiere of “Chasers” at Sundance 2025 in Park City, with screenings scheduled for January 28th, January 29th, January 31st, and February 1st. Check out this gripping series and witness the talents of this emerging filmmaker firsthand.
