Starting next month, Amazon Prime will restrict ‘try before you buy’ option for clothes shoppers.

Amazon is ending its Try Before You Buy Prime program by the end of January. The program, originally known as Prime Wardrobe when it launched in 2018, allowed members to select up to six items to try on and return what they didn’t want within a week for free. Customers were only charged for the items they kept, and the selection included clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories.

According to a statement provided to CNBC, an Amazon spokesperson mentioned that the Try Before You Buy program is being phased out due to its limited scalability and the growing popularity of other AI-powered features like virtual try-on, personalized size recommendations, review highlights, and improved size charts. The service will officially end on January 31, 2025.
