Spike Lee is excited about Ryan Coogler’s latest film, “Sinners.” In a recent Instagram post, Lee shared his experience of watching the movie in IMAX, calling it “the best experience.”
“I Just Had The Greatest Experience Of Watching A Film In Years. My Brother RYAN COOGLER Invited Me To Experience His New Film SINNERS (In IMAX),” Lee wrote.
“His Exceptional Artistry As A Storyteller Is On Another Level. And Brother MICHAEL B. JORDAN Did An Amazing Job, The Performances, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design, Original Score, Songs, Visual Effects Are Outstanding. What More Could You Want?”
Lee also mentioned that he sat next to Coogler and his wife Zinzi and felt like he was courtside at Madison Square Garden, watching the Celtics get beaten.
“I haven’t felt this way in a movie theater in a long time. I told Ryan that he really tapped into our ancestors with this film. That’s the power of Black cinema, truth, and reality. Do you understand?” Lee concluded.
The upcoming vampire thriller, set in the 1930s Jim Crow-era United States, will be released in April 2025. Michael B. Jordan plays twin vampire brothers who return to their hometown to rebuild their lives, only to find it taken over by the Ku Klux Klan.
The film’s cast also includes Delroy Lindo, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li, and Lola Kirke.
