Paramount+ has unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming U.K. original series The Crow Girl featuring Eve Myles, Katherine Kelly, Dougray Scott, and Elliot Edusah. This six-part thriller, based on Erik Axl Sund’s bestselling novel, is produced by the Emmy-winning team at Buccaneer, known for their work on Irvine Welsh’s Crime and Marcella.
The storyline follows DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Myles) and DI Lou Stanley (Scott) investigating the mysterious deaths of young men in the city, all with traces of the anaesthetic lidocaine in their bodies. As the pressure to solve the case mounts, Jeanette seeks help from Carl Lowry’s psychotherapist, Dr. Sophia Craven (Kelly), who provides a unique but unsettling perspective on the murders. With the killer getting closer to home, Jeanette and her team must unravel a web of secrets before it’s too late.
The cast also includes Clara Rugaard, Victoria Hamilton, and Chloé Sweetlove in key roles. Milly Thomas spearheaded the adaptation for the screen and serves as an executive producer alongside Charles Martin and Rebecca Rycroft, with Tony Wood and Richard Tulk-Hart as executive producers for Buccaneer. Andy Mosse is the series’ producer.
The Crow Girl is a production in partnership with ITV Studios and is scheduled to premiere in the U.K. and Ireland on Paramount+ early next year. Streaming details for the U.S. audience are yet to be announced.
