Glen Powell is set to star in a new comedy series for Hulu called Chad Powers, and he looks almost unrecognizable in his role. The series is based on a character created by Eli Manning for his ESPN+ docuseries Eli’s Places.
The official description of the series states that it follows the story of Russ Holliday, a hotshot QB whose college career is ruined by bad behavior. He disguises himself as Chad Powers and joins a struggling Southern football team, showcasing his talent and affable personality. Production for the series has officially begun.
Chad Powers is co-created and executive produced by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron, with Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, and ESPN also serving as executive producers. Powell also co-wrote the pilot episode with Waldron.
Glen Powell recently starred in Twisters as storm-chasing superstar Tyler Owens. He has a busy schedule ahead, with projects including a remake of The Running Man with Edgar Wright, a reimagining of Warren Beatty’s Heaven Can Wait, an unknown J.J. Abrams event film, and Top Gun 3.
Stay tuned for more updates on Chad Powers and Glen Powell’s other upcoming projects.
