Robert Downey Jr. had some assistance from his kids to prepare for his function in The Sympathizer.
The star opened to Bonus at Tuesday’s Los Angeles best of the brand-new HBO collection concerning just how his kids assisted him cut his head for the function.
“They seemed anxious to shave my dome,” Downey confessed. “There’s something really cathartic about shaving your head or shaving someone’s head, and then our daughter Avri was a big Stranger Things fan, and she actually gave herself a buzz cut at one point, too, so I don’t know what to say about all this.”
The Oscar-winning star shares boy Exton, 12, and little girl Avri, 9, with his better half Susan Downey, along with boy Indio, 30, with his ex-wife Deborah Falconer.
In October 2022, Downey recorded his kids shaving his head in a video clip published on Instagram. In the video, he got Exton and Avri with the job of slashing off his hair for the job that was beginning to movie quickly.
“Yeah, The Sympathizer?” Avri stated, as Exton included, “Yeah, you’re playing like five roles or something.”
“Right. Well anyway, I don’t want to wear a bald cap, so will you guys shave my head?” the Oppenheimer celebrity asked in feedback.
The Sympathizer, which debuts on HBO and Max April 14, sees Downey play 4 various personalities in the collection based upon the Pulitzer Champion story of the exact same name by Viet Thanh Nguyen. The program, evaluated completion of the Vietnam Battle, complies with an unrevealed spy called The Captain (played by Hoa Xuande) that runs away to the united state, where he remains to debrief and record back to the Viet Cong.
