“Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’ family reacted Wednesday to armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed being condemned of manslaughter, claiming they are “satisfied that the jury, based on the evidence” discovered her “guilty beyond a reasonable doubt for her part in the taking of Halyna’s life.”
“Halyna’s parents and her sister have always wanted everyone who is responsible for Halyna’s death to be held accountable,” the declaration from lawyers Gloria Allred and John Woodworker, made in support of the family, claimed of the judgment.
“We look forward to the justice system continuing to make sure that everyone else who is responsible for Halyna’s death is required to face the legal consequences for their actions,” they wrapped up.
Allred and Woodworker stand for the moms and dads of Hutchins, Olga Solovey and Anatolli Androsovych, and her sis, Svetlana Zemko.
Gutierrez-Reed, 26, was the armorer accountable of weapons and ammo on the collection of “Rust” when celebrity and manufacturer Alec Baldwin inadvertently fired and eliminated Hutchins. She was condemned of uncontrolled manslaughter on Wednesday after much less than both weeks of statement and under 2 hours of consideration from the court. She was was discovered not guilty of blocking justice.
In her closing declaration on Wednesday, unique district attorney Kari Morrissey blinked “frame after frame” of still photos revealing outright safety and security infractions on the “Rust” established, consisting of feat guys directing muzzles at stars, live rounds blended in with ammunition boxes and bandoliers implied just for “dummy” rounds.
“We end exactly where we began — in pursuit of justice for Halyna Hutchins,” Morrissey informed the court. “This case is about constant, never-ending safety failures that resulted in the death of a human being, and nearly killed another.”
Confronting 18 months behind bars, Gutierrez-Reed is currently captive and being held up until sentencing.
