Russell Crowe recently praised his former co-star, Ryan Gosling, and his latest movie, highlighting the chemistry between Gosling and Emily Blunt. The Fall Guy, directed by David Leitch, received positive reviews but unfortunately underperformed at the box office, earning only $92 million domestically despite a budget of around $150 million.
In a post on social media, Crowe, who worked with Gosling in The Nice Guys, commended The Fall Guy, describing it as a fun movie with great performances from Gosling and Blunt. The duo seamlessly transitioned between drama, romance, and comedy in the film, making it a worthwhile watch.
Crowe and Gosling had collaborated on The Nice Guys in 2016 with hopes of turning it into an action franchise similar to Lethal Weapon. Although the movie did not meet box office expectations, it gained a cult following over time. On the other hand, The Fall Guy faces a tougher path to recoup its production costs.
Despite The Fall Guy’s box office struggles, Crowe’s support for Gosling’s project is commendable. Both Gosling and Blunt have exciting projects lined up, with Gosling working on Project Hail Mary and Blunt starring in a Spielberg film. Crowe, on the other hand, is set to portray the antagonist in Kraven The Hunter and is generating buzz for his role in the upcoming film, Nuremberg.
