Robert Pattinson expresses reluctance to portray an aging Batman in the upcoming sequel to The Batman movie. In a recent interview with his co-star Naomi Ackie for Hero magazine, the actor hinted at the challenges of reprising his role as the Dark Knight.
“I hope so,” said Pattinson when asked about returning as Batman in the sequel. “I started out as a young Batman, and I’ll be an old Batman by the time the sequel rolls around.”
Despite his age of 38, Pattinson emphasized his improved health and suggested that he has successfully lowered his biological age. The highly-anticipated sequel to The Batman is slated to begin production in the third quarter of 2025 and is expected to hit theaters in October 2027 after facing multiple delays.
While the sequel is not connected to the DC universe established by James Gunn and Peter Safran, director Matt Reeves is dedicated to perfecting the script before moving forward with production. Gunn clarified that the delay is necessary to ensure the best possible film is created.
The Batman, released in 2022, garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, grossing over $772 million worldwide. Fans eagerly anticipate the continuation of the Dark Knight’s story in the upcoming sequel.
