Ramona Singer PISSED She Was FIRED From BravoCon Over Racial Slur
Ramona Singer was photographed glaring at a paparazzo on Tuesday night in the wake of Bravo’s decision to cut the reality TV veteran from this weekend’s fan event, BravoCon. Singer got the axe after she sent a Page Six reporter a text message that contained a partial racial slur.
The Real Housewives of New York City alum was snapped walking into an office building on Tuesday night carrying a pad of paper, but not before shooting a death stare at a nearby photographer.
The 66-year-old, who was wearing black pants, a leather jacket and knee length boots, appeared livid as she entered the building.
Ramona was cut from the BravoCon lineup after she tried to brush off her use of the N-word, which was first reported in the recently dropped Vanity Fair exposé. The former Bravo star tried to explain herself via a text message to Page Six, writing—“And the word I used was ’NWord Not n-g.”
Singer told the outlet that she would send along a “full statement” addressing her alleged racist behavior, but has yet to follow through. She has not publicly addressed the text message or Bravo’s decision to drop her from the event.
RHONY star, Luann de Lesseps, booted co-star, Eboni K. Williams, the first black RHONY “Housewife,” out of her house during a gathering featured on Season 13. Singer purportedly reacted to the drama by stating — “This is why we shouldn’t have black people on the show.” She denied the accusation at the time, telling Page Six that the statement was a “terrible lie.”
“It’s very disappointing that even after my name was cleared that people still want to slander me,” she said.
Singer’s alleged remark was revisited in the Vanity Fair piece earlier this week, but the mag added that she also supposedly said—“This is gonna ruin our show.”
Singer shot down the claim a second time, commenting—“In fact, I supported adding diverse cast members well before before [sic] Eboni was added.”
Bravo fired the entire cast, which included Singer, Williams, de Lesseps, Leah McSweeney, Dorinda Medley and Sonja Morgan, and canceled the reunion amid the controversy and crashed ratings. Singer went on to star in two seasons of Peacock’s “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip,” seemingly maintaining a positive relationship with the network. Her first season aired in late 2021 and the second, “RHONY Legacy,” is slated to premiere in December.
Singer’s RHUGT cast mates, de Lesseps, Morgan, Medley, Kelly Bensimon and Kristen Taekman will now promote the upcoming season at this weekend’s event without the Bravo veteran.
In October 2022, Singer addressed the cast’s relationship with Williams during an appearance on Carlos King’s Reality with the King podcast.
“What happened was, if you see the last episode, we really came together as a team, as a cast, and I really wish that happened earlier where Eboni finally loosened up,” Singer said, at the time.
She explained that the group was “comfortable” with Eboni in the mix by the time Season 13 filming wrapped, in early 2021. However, the love fest proved to be short-lived.
“She likes to write things in the press, and the PR department couldn’t control her,” Singer alleged.
The RHONY OG claimed that Eboni made baseless and “hurtful” accusations to Bravo human resources, alleging that she was a “racist.”
“You can call me unfiltered, not polite, always in a rush. I forget people’s names, you know. Yes, I’m all of those. But one thing I’m not – I’m not a racist. The press picked that up and they had a field day,” Singer added.
