The Recording Academy announced the 2025 Lifetime Achievement honorees, which include Prince, the Clash, Frankie Beverly, and Roxanne Shanté. Frankie Valli, Dr. Bobby Jones, and Taj Mahal are also recipients, while Erroll Garner, Glyn Johns, and Tania León will receive the Trustees Award. The late Dr. Leo Beranek will be honored with the Technical Grammy.
The Special Merit Awards Ceremony, where many posthumous awards will be presented, will take place on February 1, 2025, the day before the main gala. The main ceremony will be held live from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 2. Last year’s Lifetime Achievement honorees included N.W.A., Laurie Anderson, Donna Summer, Gladys Knight, Tammy Wynette, and the Clark Sisters.
