Isabel May, known for her role in 1883, is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Scream VII as the daughter of Sidney Prescott, the iconic final girl. Reports suggest that she is in the early stages of signing on to the horror franchise after Melissa Barrera was fired from Scream (2022) and Scream VI earlier this year, with co-star Jenna Ortega also not returning for Scream VII.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Isabel May would play the adult daughter of Sidney Prescott in Scream VII. This casting aligns with a theory circulating online about the upcoming film, which stems from the events of Scream (2022) and hints at a significant time jump in the storyline.
Rumors of a “big time jump” and a new trilogy starting with Scream VII gained traction in 2024, with film insider Daniel Richtman suggesting that the film would focus on Sidney’s children. While there has been no official confirmation from Spyglass Entertainment or Paramount Pictures, Richtman’s insights are being considered.
Scream VII is seen as a way to revitalize the franchise after significant losses, including the departure of key cast members and the director. The film is currently in “rebuilding mode” and is set to be directed by franchise creator Kevin Williamson, with a script penned by Gary Busick.
Fans of the Scream franchise can catch up on all six movies before the release of Scream VII, which is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 27, 2026. The last two entries, Scream (2022) and Scream VI, are available for streaming on Paramount +.
