Head to the AP Shop to pick up Zig on vinyl, as well as our Fall 2023 Issue starring Poppy.
Poppy is nearing the release of her fifth studio album, Zig, her follow-up to 2021’s Flux. So far, we’ve heard the club-ready singles “Church Outfit” and “Knockoff,” and now she’s returned with another rousing banger called “Motorbike.”

Like the previous singles, “Motorbike” resides on the dancey, electronic side of Poppy’s wide musical spectrum. It’s not a raging metal or punk song like fans have come to expect, but a dark, sleek, and fun industrial-pop banger built around the image of a cool girl riding a motorcycle. In the video, Poppy plays the part of the song’s main character, which you can watch below.
“The gray area is where I find room to dig into,” Poppy told AP in her cover interview. “I like the swings; I like the extremes. I like to play with the furthest-reaching ends of the spectrum in my music, but I think people want to be able to look at something and know what it is immediately. If they can’t put their finger on it right away, they either lose interest or decide they dislike it. But they say people dislike what they don’t understand.”
Zig is out Oct. 27 via Sumerian Records, and you can pick it up on vinyl over at our shop.
