GKIDS has released the official Witch Watch: Watch Party trailer for the upcoming magical romantic comedy anime series based on the Weekly Shonen Jump manga of the same name. The trailer also features a preview of the opening theme song, “Watch Me,” performed by the popular J-pop band YOASOBI.
Starting on March 16, GKIDS will be showing the first three episodes of the anime in theaters across North America, followed by its streaming debut on April 6.
The anime follows Morihito Otogi, a high school student from a lineage of ogres, whose life takes a turn when his childhood friend Nico, a witch-in-training, moves in with him. Nico chooses Morihito to be her familiar, leading to a series of comedic and supernatural adventures as they navigate Nico’s magic and the dangers they face together.
Witch Watch, based on the manga by Kenta Shinohara, is a romantic comedy anime directed by Hiroshi Ikehata and with character design by Haruko Iizuka. The music is composed by Yukari Hashimoto, and the anime is produced by Bibury Animation Studios.
