Netflix Drops New Clip from The Electric State Featuring Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown
Netflix has released a new clip from The Electric State, a sci-fi adventure film directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The movie, based on the illustrated novel by Simon Stålenhag, is set in an alternate version of the 1990s where robots, once peaceful servants among humans, now live in exile after a rebellion.
In the clip, Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Michelle, and Chris Pratt’s character, Keats, are seen being carried by Anthony Mackie’s character, Herman, in a Volkswagen van. The group encounters an abandoned mall and is soon attacked by a robot throwing refrigerators at them.
Joe Russo described the robots in the film as creations inspired by Walt Disney’s animatronics, initially designed for service and marketing but eventually gaining sentience. The robots in The Electric State are complex characters on their own journey of discovery.
The official synopsis of the film introduces a storyline where Michelle teams up with a mysterious robot named Cosmo, controlled by her supposedly deceased brother, Christopher. Along with Keats and his robot sidekick Herman, the group embarks on a journey through the American southwest, encountering new allies and uncovering sinister forces behind Christopher’s disappearance.
The Electric State is set to premiere on Netflix on March 14th. Get ready for this futuristic adventure filled with robots, mystery, and unexpected alliances.
