New Allegations of Sexual Misconduct Against Neil Gaiman Surface
Neil Gaiman, the best-selling fantasy author known for his popular books like Good Omens, American Gods, and The Sandman, is facing new allegations of sexual misconduct and assault. These allegations have surfaced in a cover story titled “There Is No Safe Word” published by New York Magazine.
The story details claims made by eight women against Gaiman, with one of the accusers being Scarlett Pavlovich, a former babysitter for Gaiman and his ex-wife Amanda Palmer. She described being sexually assaulted by Gaiman in New Zealand in February 2022.
Another accuser, known as Brenda, recalled a sexual encounter with Gaiman at a horror convention in the 1990s. She mentioned that Gaiman had a specific script he wanted her to follow, which made her uncomfortable.
Despite these allegations, Gaiman’s representatives have denied the claims, stating that the encounters were consensual. Gaiman has also been involved in various projects such as writing screenplays for Neverwhere and Mirrormask, co-writing Beowulf, and producing the film Stardust.
The allegations against Gaiman come at a time when the #MeToo movement has brought increased attention to issues of sexual misconduct and assault. It remains to be seen how these new claims will impact Gaiman’s reputation and career moving forward.
