A brand-new Mogwai documentary, If the Stars Had a Sound, will certainly premiere at South by Southwest in March, and, currently, you can watch the first trailer. The movie papers their increase from below ground insurgents to a cult establishment of post-rock. Long Time Mogwai partner Antony Scoundrel shot and guided the flick, blending historical video footage from their mid-1990s starts with the production of their 2021 cd, As the Love Proceeds, throughout the pandemic.
Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite stated in a news release, “We’re incredibly excited for people to see Antony’s film If the Stars Had a Sound. It originally started as a short film around leaving Scotland to record in upstate New York in early 2020 but when the pandemic happened that all changed. Both ourselves and Antony persevered with the record and the film throughout the pandemic with the film growing throughout. Antony’s film tells the story of how we all came out the other side. I think he’s made something truly special.”
If the Stars Had Sound is created by Kyrie MacTavish, Naysun Alae-Carew for Blazing Lion, Marco Colombo, and Mattia Della Puppa for Adler Enjoyment.
