Michael Bibi has revealed he finished his “main treatment” for CNS Lymphoma, a rare cancer affecting his brain and spine, after battling in hospital for the past few months.
“When I first came into hospital I was barely able to walk,” Bibi wrote on social media two days ago. “Today I walk out with a smile having completed my main treatment. tired but happy…My fight against cancer is not over…but for now a break & some extra time to enjoy life.”
Footage has now been shared of the house music superstar and Solid Grooves label boss making a surprise appearance in Ibiza, his very first show back since being diagnosed in June. In the video, Bibi drops his track “Got The Fire” as an enthusiastic crowd erupts with energy.
“Emotional stuff in Ibiza right now,” Defected Records shared on social media. “Michael Bibi making a special guest appearance at DC-10. Amazing to see him back behind the decks.”
Over the past few months, Bibi has continued to share updates with fans on social media, inspiring the global electronic music community with his optimism and resilience. On his birthday, he told supporters that his tumor had “reduced by 40%.”
