“Flight Risk” is Mel Gibson’s latest directorial effort, marking his return after a decade-long hiatus. Unlike his previous film, “Hacksaw Ridge,” this suspense thriller takes place at 35,000 feet with Mark Wahlberg leading the cast.
The movie follows Wahlberg as a pilot transporting an Air Marshal and a fugitive to trial, traversing the Alaskan wilderness. Tensions rise and trust is tested as the true identities of those on board come into question.
In addition to Wahlberg, the film also stars Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace. Gibson directs the film based on a script by Jared Rosenberg, with production from a team including John Davis and John Fox. “Flight Risk” is set to release in theaters on January 24, distributed by Lionsgate.
