RECAP: ‘Married To Medicine’ Lateasha Gets Revenge On Dr. Heavenly
Calling all patients! It’s time for another episode of Married to Medicine. We begin with Dr. Jackie Walters as she calls a patient before leaving the office for the day. Simone and Cecil Whitmore are chatting with Eugene and Toya Bush-Harris about the bachelorette and bachelor party; as Dr. Alicia discuss the weekend with her husband. Meanwhile, Phaedra Parks is cooking for a visit with Jackie and Dr. Heavenly Kimes. Jackie rushes back out the door as Phaedra’s dog tries to get a sniff. Jackie’s scared of dogs and Phaedra rushes to put the puppy up as Jackie and Heavenly scope out Phaedra’s house. Jackie doesn’t like the décor but Heavenly’s feeling the bouginess.
Once Phaedra returns, the ladies head to the kitchen for some salad and to grill Phaedra. Jackie wants to know why Phaedra brought Quad Webb to Lateasha Lunceford’s pamper party. Phaedra plays dumb and says although Quad didn’t come with her that she did extend the invitation. Phaedra claims the women kept asking where Quad was, so she decided to show them. Jackie likes Quad but says it’s hard to be friends with Quad when she doesn’t answer the phone. Before, Quad said she needed time and space and now Jackie doesn’t know when or how to get in touch with Quad. Back to Phaedra, Jackie asks if she feels good about her decision and of course Phaedra thinks she did the right thing.
Due to Sweet Tea and her sister’s explosive argument, Phaedra felt that Quad ushered in a new spirit. Heavenly laughs it off but in her confessional reveals that she’s watching Phaedra like a hawk. Once seated, Heavenly asks Phaedra if she thinks Dr. Gregory Lunceford and Lateasha are ready for marriage based on the bridal shower. Phaedra thinks Lateasha is an emotional person and got triggered by Johnnie calling. Heavenly thinks there’s a reason to be concerned but Jackie believes all the ladies act out. Jackie reveals that when she’s upset she elaborates her syllables with Curtis, but Heavenly thinks Gregory has exhibited emotional outburst.
A flashback show Gregory and Quad throughout their marriage as Phaedra mentions having lunch with Gregory. Phaedra tells Jackie and Heavenly how happy Gregory is and that she thinks he will change for Lateasha. Heavenly thinks the outburst gives reason for pause but the ladies think Sweet Tea and Gregory will do whatever they want.
Later, Cecil and Miles are discussing school as Simone walks downstairs in the middle of Miles discussing getting a C. Simone didn’t get C’s in college and wants to know where Miles is with school now. Miles was going to take two classes in the summer, but Cecil would prefer Miles get experience in the film industry. Simone just wants to see her baby boy graduate, but Miles is dragging his feet.
Simone questions Miles about his five-year plan and after he says a bunch of nothing, Simone gets fed up and puts her foot down! Simone tells Miles that she and Cecil are footing the bill for his life and it’s time he fly the nest solo. Simone promises to foot the bill for one more year and after that they’re done. Simone thinks Cecil’s allowing Miles to drag his feet, but Miles has been in college for five years and Simone wants to retire. Simone can’t retire if she’s taking care of grown men, but Cecil wants to make sure the kids are set for success. Simone and Cecil are on different pages and admit they stopped having a lot of s*x ten years ago. Simone wants to run around naked, but Miles says the warranty has expired.
Later, Gregory and Lateasha are spending time together at The Starling as the two discuss their wild bachelor parties. Gregory had a great time but didn’t elaborate on everything, but Lateasha’s night was a different story. Lateasha’s stressed but trying to hold it together for the big day. Lateasha tells Gregory that Phaedra invited Quad and Gregory’s confused why his friend would bring his ex to the party. Gregory thinks the wedding wasn’t planned correctly but is still hopeful that he’ll give Lateasha the wedding she deserves. The two shake off the nerves while walking into their wedding rehearsal. Lateasha greets her wedding party and Lateasha’s ecstatic to have her family there.
Johnnie conducts the wedding rehearsal, and everyone looks on cue as Lateasha and Gregory anticipate the big day! This isn’t the first time Lateasha dated an older man and says that he’s the youthful one in the relationship. Meanwhile, Gregory steps outside to call Phaedra to asks why she brought Quad to Lateasha’s party. Phaedra claims that Quad wanted Lateasha to know there was no animosity between them but Gregory ain’t listening to none of that! Gregory doesn’t care if the ladies are mad and tells Phaedra she better be looking out for Lateasha.
The next day, Phaedra’s chatting with her son about the upcoming school year as Eugene makes Toya breakfast for her birthday. Their son comes out to assist as Toya gets balloons and breakfast in bed. Aston is in Disney World on his class trip and is awaiting a call from her baby to begin her birthday. Toya thanks Eugene for the gifts as Johnnie puts the décor together for the wedding. Sweet Tea’s dropping it low with her bridesmaids as her friends reminisce on Lateasha’s past loves. Lateasha discusses how Gregory proposed and that Gregroy asked Lateasha’s mom for her hand in marriage. Lateasha’s mom wasn’t happy with her dating Gregory at first (since he’s five years older than Lateasha’s mama) but came around once she saw how much Gregory loves Lateasha.
Gregory arrives for his big day looking ready as he takes a nap in his hotel room. Meanwhile, Simone and Cecil are riding to the wedding and Cecil jokes asking what Quad’s wearing to the wedding. Toya and Eugene are happy that Gregory’s happy again and Toya mentions Greg feeling stuck in his marriage to Quad. Toya couldn’t imagine not having sex with Eugene for three years as Dr. Damon Kimes and Heavenly ride to the wedding. Heavenly tells Damon about Lateasha’s breakdown and mentions she texted Lateasha without a response. Phaedra and Jackie look amazing as they arrive to the wedding but Jackie’s without Curtis, since he’s in the DR working on a project. Mmmhmm…
Gregory looks sharp as the show begins to get started! Dr. Contessa Metcalf and Dr. Scott Metcalf are also in attendance as Simone and Cecil greet them. Contessa asks if Quad is coming but Simone tells Contessa about Quad crashing the bachelorette party. Jackie tells Phaedra she isn’t the bride today, but Phaedra claims she’s the bride every day. They begin looking at the program and Phaedra thinks Lateasha used a funeral line up to introduce the wedding party. Shady! Phaedra’s invitations were silk, but her marriage didn’t last, so how important are the invitations? We get a flashback of Phaedra and Apollo’s time together as Phaedra mentions not believing in all the “love” stuff.
Heavenly and Damon arrive as Gregory and his groomsmen prepare to walk down the aisle. Everyone’s happy to see Gregory and Phaedra truly believes Greg’s happy and in-love. Toya and Eugene arrive right when Heavenly and Damon are told they are not on the list! Toya’s surprised and confused while they wonder what the problem is. Sweet Tea told Johnnie to take Heavenly off the list due to Heavenly talking sh** at the pamper party. Toya and Eugene head inside as Heavenly and Damon figure out what’s wrong. Johnnie eventually comes down and tells Heavenly and Damon that they were removed from the list as Toya relays the information to the group.
The bridesmaids pray for Lateasha’s marriage, as Simone laughs at Heavenly’s predicament. The bridal party looks beautiful, and money was spent on this beautiful day! Lateasha looks stunning as her father walks her down the aisle to meet the love of her life. We watch as Gregory and Lateasha exchange vows.
Meanwhile, Damon and Heavenly quietly sneak their way into the ceremony. Production said not today, and the maid of honor sees the Kimes as they make their way in. The group shake their head at Heavenly as Lateasha and Gregory make their love official. The two kiss as newlyweds and now the celebration can begin.
The ladies congratulate Lateasha as the fellas compliment Gregory on a beautiful day. The newlyweds mingle with their family as the group take pictures and almost break the photobooth. Alicia asks Heavenly what happened and after explaining that she wasn’t on the list, Toya and the rest of the ladies think Lateasha sobered up and may be mad at Heavenly and Phaedra.
Simone knows Phaedra wouldn’t want the ladies bringing Apollo around, so why is Phaedra pretending not to understand? Toya doesn’t care what Quad thinks about Gregory and Lateasha’s relationship, as producers show us Quad home lighting candles alone. Producers ask Quad how she’s doing, and Quad congratulates them while slipping into a bubble bath.
Quad pretends that everything is fine as the rest of the group parties with the newlyweds. Greg and Lateasha promise to be the best for each other as the group watch some ladies dance on the dance floor.
Eugene jokes that one of the ladies is from the strip club and Toya was about to go off before Eugene said he was just joking.
Simone asks Toya who planned her wedding as Toya and Eugene reminisce on their wedding day. Eugene and his best man cried and it’s all love as the group heads to the dance floor and Sweet Tea tells Heavenly she’s mad at her. Heavenly pretends she didn’t do anything, but Sweet Tea continues partying with her new husband and group of friends. So beautiful!
