Mark Ronson “would love to make more music” with Barbie celebrity Ryan Gosling, the music manufacturer informed Signboard today.
“We definitely had a lot of fun,” Ronson stated of his cooperation with Gosling. Ronson, along with Andrew Wyatt, created the currently Oscar-nominated soundtrack for the movie, that includes Gosling’s Oscar and Grammy-nominated tune, “I’m Just Ken.”
“Ryan…he’s got amazing taste and great ideas, and he’s an extremely funny and talented musician and singer,” Ronson stated.
He included that both had a lot more enjoyable dealing with the Xmas version of “I’m Just Ken”– launched December 2023, 5 months after Barbie struck package workplace– as it enabled them a possibility to revive their relationship.
“I probably hadn’t spoken to him for about a year till the movie was wrapping up,” Ronson stated.“And I was like, ‘Hey, we finished the version actually, Slash is playing on it, I just want to make sure you’re happy with it before we mix it.’ And he really loved it.”
Ronson proceeded,“We made [the Christmas] version and then we started to hang, and definitely, I would love to make more music. You know, I think it would be great. And we’ve talked about it a little bit.”
Upon its initial launch, “I’m Just Ken” made Gosling a place on the Signboard Hot 100. Currently, the track is chosen for a Grammy at Sunday’s event (up for ideal tune composed for aesthetic media) and an Oscar (ideal tune).
In November, Ronson disclosed that Gosling had initially not intended to sing in the movie, however transformed his mind upon hearing “I’m Just Ken.”
“I remember [Barbie director Greta Gerwig] wrote back saying, ‘Ryan says this song speaks to him very deeply,’” he stated. “The next thing we knew, Greta said Ryan’s down to sing it, and we are going to rewrite this battle scene to incorporate it.”
