The Substance, also starring Demi Moore and Dennis Quaid, follows a celebrity who takes a black-market drug to create a younger version of herself.
Production designer Pierre Olivier-Persin revealed that Qualley also wore fake breasts for the movie, created using a live cast of the actress.
The process of creating prosthetics involves taking a live cast or scan, sculpting the desired changes, molding the sculptures, and applying and painting the prosthetics on the actor.
