Kelela is set to release her new live album, “In the Blue Light,” recorded with her band at New York’s iconic Blue Note last year. The album, which features live renditions of tracks from her previous projects like Cut 4 Me, Hallucinogen, Take Me Apart, and Raven, as well as a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Furry Sings the Blues,” will be available on February 11 via Warp.
Kelela has a special connection to the Blue Note, having frequented the venue since her teenage years. She has shared her love for the venue in interviews with publications like Pitchfork and GQ.
“In the Blue Light” includes unplugged versions of fan-favorite tracks like “Enemy,” “Raven,” “Take Me Apart,” “Bankhead,” and more. The album captures the intimate and soulful atmosphere of Kelela’s live performance at the Blue Note.
