Julien Arnold, a veteran stage actor, tragically passed away after experiencing a medical emergency while performing in A Christmas Carol at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Canada. Arnold, age 59, was playing the role of Fezziwig in the production and was known for his charismatic performances on stage.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate Arnold at the scene, but he passed away in the theater. The cause of his death was not disclosed by the Citadel Theatre. The news of Arnold’s sudden passing was shared on Instagram, with the theater community mourning the loss of a beloved actor and friend.
The Citadel Theatre announced that the current run of A Christmas Carol would be dedicated to Arnold’s memory. A GoFundMe page was set up to support his widow, Sheiny, with funeral and other related expenses.
Arnold had a prolific career in the Edmonton theater scene, with notable performances in various productions, including A Christmas Carol, Twelfth Night, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Once. He was a founding member of the Free Will Players and the Atlas Theatre Collective, showcasing his talent as both a director and actor.
Throughout his career, Arnold received recognition for his performances, including nominations for Sterling Awards and a win for best Fringe performance by an actor. He was a cherished member of the theater community and his contributions will be deeply missed.
