Julia Garner shares her excitement about playing the character of Silver Surfer in Marvel’s upcoming film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Garner recently discussed her role in the movie with Entertainment Weekly, revealing that she will be portraying a “really shiny” version of the character on screen.
“I can’t reveal too much about the project,” Garner stated. “But I am grateful to be a part of it, and I can’t wait for audiences to see the Fantastic Four in action. The Silver Surfer will definitely be shiny, just like in the comics and previous adaptations. That’s all I can say for now.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps features a star-studded cast with Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing). Additionally, Ralph Ineson portrays Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, with Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne in undisclosed roles.
The film is set in a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, where the Fantastic Four must face their most challenging enemy yet, Galactus, and his herald, Silver Surfer. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
In addition to her role in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Garner will also appear in the upcoming film Wolf Man, alongside Christopher Abbott. The movie follows a family as they are terrorized by a mysterious creature at a remote farmhouse. Wolf Man is set to hit theaters on January 17, 2025.
