John Cleese Defends Gilliam After Eric Idle Blames Her for Dwindling Finances

John Cleese, the fabled comic, star and Monty Python establishing participant, slapped back Tuesday versus cofounder Eric Idle’s assertion that his dwindling finances are the mistake of supervisor– and cofounder Terry Gilliam’s little girl– Holly Gilliam.

“I have worked with Holly for the last 10 years, and I find her very efficient, clear-minded, hard working and a pleasure to have dealings with,” Cleese created in a blog post on X.

Cleese included that cofounders Gilliam and Michael Palin likewise asked him “to make it clear” that they are of the exact same viewpoint.

Cleese’s remarks followed Idle created on X Saturday, claiming that “people always assume we’re loaded,” yet that the finances behind Monty Python are today “a disaster.”
