Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE) said Wednesday its total average daily volume (“ADV”) rose 12% year-over-year in September, easing from the 12% annual growth in August.
Energy ADV climbed 30% Y/Y, with open interest (“OI”) edging up 4% Y/Y.
Total oil ADV jumped 48% Y/Y, with OI up 29%. Brent ADV increased 48%, WTI surged 95%, and gasoil gained 34%.
Total natural gas ADV advanced 5% Y/Y, with OI rising 12%.
Total agricultural and metals ADV increased 7% Y/Y, with OI up 17% Y/Y, including record OI of 4.8M lots on September 14. Sugar ADV gained 8%, cocoa ADV climbed 7%, and coffee ADV perked up 5%.
