Introducing the Hyperlux ID Family: Industry’s First Real-Time iToF Sensor for Precision Depth Sensing
onsemi has recently unveiled the Hyperlux ID family, a groundbreaking real-time, indirect time-of-flight (iToF) sensor that offers high precision long distance measurements and 3D imaging of fast-moving objects. This innovative sensor utilizes onsemi’s proprietary global shutter pixel architecture and on-board storage to capture an entire scene and process depth measurement in real-time, addressing the limitations of standard iToF sensors. The Hyperlux ID family can achieve depth sensing up to 30 meters, four times further than standard iToF sensors, all within a compact form factor. Additionally, it can generate both monochrome and depth images simultaneously, providing a comprehensive view of the environment without the need for separate sensors.
The Hyperlux ID family enables a simplified design, extended depth sensing range, operation under dynamic scene conditions, and the ability to capture fast-moving objects. According to Alexander Lewinsky, Managing Director of IDS Imaging Development Systems, the Hyperlux ID sensor offers higher resolution and better ambient light suppression compared to other iToF sensors on the market. The AF0130 model in the Hyperlux ID family features onboard processing for easy integration and cost reduction. For customers who prefer to integrate their own depth algorithms, the AF0131 model allows for added flexibility.
